Role:

She was also a goddess of healing, and was the patron of physicians and healers.
She was associated with disease, and could send plagues to the people of Egypt with her bow and arrow.
Appearance:
She was usually depicted as a woman with the head of a lioness, wearing a sun disk and the uraeus serpent.
When she was in a calmer state, she would take the form of the household cat goddess Bastet.
Worship:
The ancient Egyptians believed that Sekhmet had a cure for every problem.
To stay on her good side, they offered her food and drink, played music for her, and burned incense.
